COMPANY OVERVIEW Balchem Corporation develops manufactures and markets specialty ingredients that improve and enhance the health and well being of life on the planet providing state of the art solutions and the finest quality products for a range of industries worldwide Our corporate headquarters is located in New Hampton New York Hudson Valley area and we have a broad network of sales offices manufacturing sites and R&D centers primarily located in the US and Europe Founded in 1967 Balchem is a publicly traded company NASDAQ BCPC with annual revenues over 700 million and a market cap exceeding 40 billion The company consists of three business segments Human Nutrition & Health; Animal Nutrition & Health; and Specialty Products Balchem employs over 1400 people worldwide who are engaged in diverse activities committed to developing the company into global market leadership positions To learn more about our dynamic stable and growing company visit wwwbalchemcom POSITION SUMMARY Assist Operations Managers in safely manufacturing of food and feed products in line with customer quality requirements Supervise production workers during shift in manufacturing labeling and packaging of food and feed products according to production demandsschedules and specifications ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead a safety and quality focused production environment to produce food and feed products that meet customer specificationsCorrect any problems that arise and report it to the manager as neededAbility to read and understand a manufacturing formula sheetResponsible for operator accuracy of BPR paperwork labeling tool checklists kanban all forms & record keeping materialSupervise the operators blenders and baggers on your shift and effectively communicate production turn overTrainsupervise production workers in all aspects of the equipment operationsAssure that Manufacturing Training Cleaning Safety Quality and other procedures are being strictly adhered toOperate mechanical equipment safely and efficientlyContinually gain in depth knowledge of facility equipmentCorrect any problems that ariseKeep Management and other supervisors informed of changing conditionsResponsible for checking all forms and record keeping materialWork with maintenance personnel to address equipment needs and coordinate those needs with production schedulingInvolved in troubleshooting situations and development of corrective action plansProvide suggestions for continual improvement applications of lean processing and aid in following through and implementationUnderstand comply with and enforce safety regulationsMaintain and assist others in OSHA Kosher GMP ISO LOTO CSE and QS plant requirementsMaintain operations in such a manner as to continuously produce quality products in a safe and efficient mannerCoach employees in a teamwork environment for continuous improvementPerform duties of plant sanitation supervisorDiscipline employees when policies are not adhered to attendance punctuality performance etcResponsible for self involvement team involvement and execution of tasks relative to achieving annual departmental goalsREQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred and a minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory experienceMust be responsible; maintain a positive work attitude safety minded quality minded management supportive and company orientedGood communication skills high math and reading skills high mechanical abilityAble to wear a respiratorWillingness to work a compressed schedule eg 12 hour shiftsAble to stand and walk during 12 hour shifts in varying weather conditionsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteSpecialized Knowledge Licenses etc Basic knowledge of Pumps diaphragm centrifugal etc HMI use valves reactors dryers and other equipment typical in a chemical plant additional training may be mandatedIN Balchem is committed to a workplace culture that values and promotes diversity inclusion equal employment opportunities and a work environment free of harassment and hostility
