A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting systems engineering technologies within the Department of Defense is highly preferred. You must be knowledgeable in the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, reliable communication networks in dynamic, often military or field-based settings. Additionally, experience with integrating existing infrastructures with new tactical network components is essential. Management of network connectivity among various platforms such as ground vehicles, airborne assets, and command centers is also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to decompose systems into key components and subcomponents, as well as comprehend the interfaces between them. A logical modular design with standard interfaces to ensure scalability and adaptability is required.

Responsibilities:

In this role, I will expect you to lead, manage, and train a team of systems engineers. You will coordinate with system users to convert their requirements into systems, hardware, and software specifications and designs. Leading the development of test strategies will also be part of your duties. You will direct the creation of solutions to systems engineering challenges involving technology insertion and new product integration. A comprehensive understanding of Tactical Network hardware and software systems related to large-scale battlefield communications at all levels will also be necessary. You will supervise the installation of unit-specific configurations and Internet Protocols based on the latest unit System Architecture and the Lightweight Directory Interchange Format (LDIF). It’s crucial that you ensure that PdM NetMod and PdM Mission Network systems are Fully Mission Capable (FMC) following Initial Fielding, Reset, or Upgrade, making them ready for unit missions.

Company:

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with selecting appropriate network protocols and technologies to meet specific mission requirements, including data link layers, routing protocols, and encryption mechanisms. Experience with testing methodologies for embedded systems, integration testing, and systems-level testing is beneficial. Familiarity with simulation tools to evaluate system performance under various scenarios is also a plus. Additionally, you must be able to obtain DoD 8570/8410 IAT Level II certification. For this position, candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold a current/active Secret clearance. Physical requirements include the ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time with occasional mobility within the office to access file cabinets and office equipment. You will frequently communicate with coworkers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations, so it’s essential to exchange accurate information in these situations.
