Requirements


Must have:

– Deep understanding of Cisco Wireless Technologies including WLCs, APs, RF management, mobility, and security. – Proficiency in wireless protocols, particularly IEEE 802.11 standards, along with relevant Wi-Fi certifications. – Proven experience in designing, planning, and implementing complex wireless networks. – Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills for diagnosing and resolving wireless network issues to enhance performance. – Knowledge of security standards such as WPA/WPA2(3) encryption and guest access protocols. – Familiarity with automation and orchestration, specifically using Cisco DNA Center. – Ability to create and maintain comprehensive network documentation. – CCNP Wireless certification or higher preferred. – CWNP certifications are advantageous. – Competence in network protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS. – Proficiency in operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux. – Experience with network management tools such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Wireshark.

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct RF planning through RF surveys and optimize access point placement. – Implement and troubleshoot mobility management features in wireless networks. – Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement and support to ensure project success. – Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations within wireless networking.

We are seeking a skilled Cisco Wireless Engineer to join our team in Harrisburg, PA. This is a hybrid contract position focused on reviewing, redesigning, and implementing wireless solutions. The role involves working in a high-level engineering capacity within our Engineering and Service Delivery section, where I will support network architecture and Tier 4 troubleshooting. A strong technical background in wireless networking is crucial for this opportunity.
