Requirements


Must have:

– I require 5-7 years of experience in Kubernetes operations, specifically with AWS EKS in a production environment. – A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is essential. – Hands-on experience with Cilium and Karpenter is a must. – Proven leadership experience in multi-tenant Kubernetes environments is necessary. – Expertise in Helm, Terraform, ArgoCD, AWS IAM/RBAC, Cilium, and ECR. – Familiarity with platform-level security and compliance to FedRAMP/NIST standards. – Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, and Go. – Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. – Willingness to work nights and/or weekends for patching or deployments is required. – Ability to obtain a public trust clearance is needed.

Responsibilities:


  • I will lead the administration of Kubernetes clusters (EKS), encompassing provisioning, upgrades, node group management, and patching. – I am responsible for architecting and optimizing platform infrastructure to ensure scalability and compliance with security standards. – Overseeing the creation and maintenance of Kubernetes IaC (Helm charts, Terraform modules) for tenant onboarding and environment configuration is part of my role. – I will manage and patch Kubernetes-layer tools (Cilium, Karpenter) and their associated open-source components. – I own the configuration of the platform network, including DNS, firewall services/TIC 3.0, and VPN/tunnels. – I will direct the automation, distribution, and security incident response related to base images. – Implementing and maintaining load balancer configurations (both public and ingress, compliant with TIC 3.0) is within my scope of work. – I will drive the development of golden paths and enable developer self-service capabilities. – Leading contingency planning and disaster recovery strategies, including backup/restore procedures and incident communication, is a critical responsibility. – Producing and maintaining platform documentation (POAMs, SOPs, security SOPs, management plans) is essential to my role. – I will mentor junior platform engineers and coordinate tasks across Cloud Ops, App Support, and Automation teams.
