Requirements
Must have:
– I have at least 5 years of pertinent IT experience. – I am skilled in enterprise monitoring, with advanced problem-solving capabilities for complex environmental and application issues. – I possess experience utilizing Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Dynatrace for enterprise-level monitoring. – I am proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, and Python. – I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines, or have equivalent professional experience. – I exhibit strong troubleshooting abilities across data center infrastructure components, including networking, F5, operating systems, SAN, and virtualization. – I have excellent communication skills to deliver timely updates on issues, projects, and troubleshooting efforts.
Responsibilities:
- I provide subject matter expertise in the design, configuration, and implementation of various applications within the current enterprise environment, focusing on advanced troubleshooting with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Dynatrace. – I maintain and enhance the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and contribute to its maturity. – I manage and improve the configurations related to ServiceNow Discovery. – I identify and rectify issues concerning Configuration Management, Discovery, and Service Mapping, which includes CI identification, reconciliation, normalization, ownership, and relationships. – I develop configuration reports and dashboards for the CMDB. – I offer configuration support for hardware and software asset management related to ITOM functionality. – I assist in gathering requirements and developing user stories. – I collaborate with developers to ensure the quality and design of functional capabilities are realized. – I research and analyze technical solutions to make well-informed recommendations on the most appropriate, efficient, and cost-effective options. – I participate in product roadmap planning.

This role is part of the System Center Team within the Enterprise Operations and Monitoring branch, where our primary focus is to provide detailed troubleshooting and diagnosis for emerging issues. The position involves close collaboration with other segments of the IT Operations team and various governmental client agencies. We employ tools like Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and Dynatrace to monitor the client’s enterprise environment, which encompasses over 160 applications and more than 500 servers within Dynatrace, among others within SCOM. Additionally, the role involves responsibilities associated with the ITSM platform, ServiceNow, and requires direct interaction with ITOM and CMDB Service Mapping to establish connections between applications and IT infrastructure. Our client has maintained a well-established installation of Dynatrace, SCOM, and ServiceNow ITOM since 2020. We aim to enhance the capabilities of these platforms while continuing to automate our internal processes. I understand that this position is remote or hybrid based in Kentucky and is a long-term contract role offering $40-45/hour, with expected hours of 40 per week.
