24 monthsWhat You’ll Do:
 Serve as the primary contact on electrical safety and administer the
LANL Electrical Safety Program.
 Act as a resource for LANL employees and managers regarding
electrical safety concerns.
 Conduct incident investigations and determine root causes,
developing corrective actions as necessary.
 Perform workplace condition inspections to identify electrical hazards
in various environments.
 Lead reviews of Integrated Work Documents (IWD) and
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
 Contribute to the development of codes, standards, and specifications
for electrical equipment safety.
 Provide advanced support to engineers/scientists in solving complex
technical problems.
 Participate in the evaluation of controlled items and services for
compliance with electrical safety requirements.
 Perform calculations to determine electrical severity scores for
incidents.
 Develop written electrical safety policies, procedures, and design
standardsWhat We’re Looking For:
 BS and 2 years of field experience (or equivalent combination of

education and/or experience).
 Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q
level security clearance.
 Advanced knowledge of electrical safety standards including NFPA,
IEEE, and OSHA, particularly NFPA 70E.
 Experience with electrical engineering/technology in various
applications such as low voltage AC and DC systems.
 Significant experience with personal computer systems and software,
including Microsoft Office.
 Demonstrated expert communication and organizational skills for
presenting complex technical information.
