Overview:

The Insurance Manager is responsible for assisting the VP of Risk Management in managing all company insurance coverage other than health care benefits. The Insurance Manager will assist in the ongoing evaluation of the existing insurance program, analyzing premium and exposure growth, and identifying gaps in coverage.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in writing, maintaining, and updating procedures for the Risk department.
  • Provide consultative support on contract reviews to all departments within the organization.
  • Work with Risk management education and safety and the VP of risk management to help develop ideas or programs that drive down claims.
  • Review insurance policies to make sure coverage is correct and complete.
  • Work with insurance brokers to get the best service and coverage.
  • Analyze costs and risks to see where insurance coverage could be improved or where money can be saved.
  • Help prevent accidents or claims by working with safety and risk teams.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on insurance and risk management practices.
  • Assist in special projects, like mergers and acquisitions or disaster recovery planning.
  • Report to leadership about risks, claims, and insurance coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to risk and insurance.

Qualifications:

  1. 4+ years experience working in insurance contracting or a similar role, preferably within a healthcare company
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  3. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  4. ARM, CPCU, CRIS certification(s) preferred
  5. Experience with Origami software, preferred
