SQL DBA — Contract (Hybrid)

Position Title: Database Administrator Lead (MySQL DBA)
Position Location: Hybrid 3 days in office, 2 remote
Most preferred – Pittsburgh, PA 15222
Second preferred – Strongsville, OH 44136
All other locations – Birmingham, AL 35233; Farmers Branch, TX 75234; Phoenix AZ 85016.

Technical Skills: (6+ years)

Complete Understanding of MySQL s underlying storage engines

Significant Knowledge of MySQL version 8.x and new features

Knowledge of Automated Failover Solutions for MySQL

Knowledge of TDE (At Rest Encryption)

Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL

Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases

Strong knowledge of ODBC/JDBC client/server communication

Significant Automation experience with shell and SQL scripting

Soft Skills:

Analytical skills necessary to perform troubleshooting of errors and performance issues

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Results-oriented and able to work across the organization as an individual contributor

Excellent customer service skills

Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

Ability to deliver consistent, high quality, cost effective service by handling routine, as well as some non-routine, systems issues
