Job Title
OSK Internal Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Entry Level)
Payrate: $38/hr. to $40/hr. on W2
Contract Length: 6 months (through March 2026), with potential extensions
Location: Preference for local and hybrid candidates (Wisconsin); remote may be considered if no local candidates are available

<>Job Summary
As an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer, you will support the design and development of functional, reliable, and cost-effective components for heavy-duty vehicles. You ll work under the guidance of senior engineers to perform basic engineering tasks, contribute to design efforts, and assist in integrating components into vehicle systems.
Your Impact
- Assist in performing basic engineering calculations and design tasks
- Support the preparation of layouts, drawings, and specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers
- Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions
- Help evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability
- Contribute to documentation and bill of materials creation
- Provide support for prototype builds and testing
- Assist in resolving technical issues during development and production
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members
- Learn and apply company engineering standards and practices
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Internship or academic project experience in mechanical design or analysis
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to automotive or heavy-vehicle systems through coursework or internships
- Experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment
