Windows / Linux Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Windows/Linux Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, and support our enterprise server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Windows and Linux operating systems, automation, and system security. This role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across hybrid environments.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) environments.
- Manage Active Directory , DNS , DHCP , Group Policy , and file/print services.
- Implement and manage user authentication , permissions , and access controls.
- Perform system upgrades , patch management , and vulnerability remediation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, performance bottlenecks, and service outages.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell , Bash , or Python scripts.
- Collaborate with network, security, and DevOps teams to maintain a secure and resilient infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Monitor system performance and availability using tools like Nagios , Zabbix , or SolarWinds.
- Support backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory , LDAP , Group Policy , and RBAC.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible).
- Experience with OnPrem
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls).
- Familiarity with security hardening and compliance standards.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Grafana).
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
