Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Release Engineering contractor to join our team and drive continuous improvement in our CI/CD practices. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can manage complex deployment pipelines across diverse environments while mentoring the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (CloudBees preferred)
  • Manage release workflows across multiple technology stacks (Java/Spring Boot, Python, Angular)
  • Orchestrate deployments across AWS services, on-premises OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), and VM environments
  • Implement and optimize containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Integrate security scanning tools and vulnerability assessments into CI/CD pipelines
  • Manage Tomcat cluster deployments and Spring Boot application releases
  • Optimize performance across multi-OS environments (Linux, Windows, macOS)
  • Lead pipeline automation initiatives and establish security-first best practices
  • Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge transfer
  • Challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex deployment issues across diverse platforms

Required Technical Skills

  • CI/CD Expertise: Advanced Jenkins experience (CloudBees platform strongly preferred)

  • Java Ecosystem Mastery :

  • Spring Boot application deployment and configuration

  • Tomcat cluster management and optimization

  • Maven/Gradle build systems

  • Java application performance tuning

  • Multi-Technology Proficiency: Java, Python, and Angular application deployment

  • Security Integration :

  • Security scanning tools (SAST/DAST/SCA)

  • Vulnerability assessment and remediation

  • Secure pipeline design and compliance

  • Cross-Platform Operations :

  • Linux, Windows, and macOS environments

  • Multi-OS deployment strategies

  • Platform-specific optimization

  • Cloud & Infrastructure :

  • AWS services (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, CodePipeline, etc.)

  • On-premises OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)

  • Virtual machine environments

  • Containerization: Docker and Kubernetes orchestration

  • Performance Optimization: Application and infrastructure performance tuning

  • Pipeline Management: Complex workflow design and optimization

  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, or similar tools

  • Version Control: Git, branching strategies, and release management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years of release engineering experience
  • CloudBees Jenkins certification
  • AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect)
  • OpenShift administration experience
  • Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, or similar)
  • Java enterprise application experience (Spring ecosystem)
  • Tomcat administration and clustering expertise
  • Experience with security scanning tools (SonarQube, Snyk, Veracode, Checkmarx)
  • Performance monitoring and APM tools experience
  • Multi-OS system administration background
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Agile/DevOps methodology expertise
